E10 MESS? NOT SURE, CHECK YOUR MOTORCYCLE HERE

E10 IS HERE – NO IT’S NOT A PUDDING, IT’S A PETROL AND HERE’S HOW TO CHECK IF IT’S OK FOR YOUR VEHICLE

The times they are a changing – always, this summer standard 95 octane petrol (no change to diesel) in the UK will morph into E10.
The reason for the change is that E10 contains 10% renewable ethanol which should help to reduce vehicle carbon dioxide emissions. E10 is already in use and if not, it is coming in all round the world. It is also the fuel which new vehicle emissions are tested with.
Apparently, 95% of petrol vehicles currently in use on our roads can make the transfer to E10 painlessly and all vehicles made since 2011 are E10 compatible. If you can’t use E10 in you vehicle, you will still be able to buy ‘Super’ grade 97+ octane petrol from the pumps – just check before you fill up.

If you are in any doubt, here is the government’s checker to help you out.

Is your motorcycle compatible and will you even notice the difference or is it going to create a problem for you? Do you approve of the lower emissions factor?

02/08/21 - Hi once again bikers are being told what to do by the bloody greens of this world, I'm getting pissed of by these middle class people when it comes down to what I can ride and go, for me it's 2 strokes & old classics, machines that have a sound, smell and a soul not this silent limited mileage electric crap that we are being forced to use by people who would like to ban us all from the roads in the first place, also why should I have to pay more for my fuel ?  because the new E10 will bugger my engine up, rot the tank and eat the rubber and brass parts of the carb. E10 may be a bit cleaner but you have to divert land from food production to make it, when some people in the world are still going hungry. Any way the reason I choose this life style for the last 45 years is it's freedom to choose and not to be told.

09/07/21 - Useless...i just tried entering my bike 350LC ..consult the manual...phhf!
